Things
may be good for you now but the stress on the earth just beneath
your feet is tremendous. To the untrained eye it may seem to be
going about it's business as usual but underneath it is raging a
terrible battle of epic proportions. I
am afraid the world around us is dying even as we speak. A baby
is born every 1/2 a second with someone dying every 5 seconds. This
places an incredible pressure on the earth's resources. Americans are only about 5% of the population of the Earth, yet use over 45% of her resources to support the automobile-driven, throwaway lifestyles. Our lust for convenience is causing the planet to slowly become extinct and fueling a runaway greenhouse effect that will turn most of the Planet into a desert by the middle of the next century. Yet most people will be driving their CO2-belching cars to schools (built on landfill) and buy petrochemical based shoes (made with slave labor) and eat a Big Mac full of hormone-soaked beef raised on what used to be Amazon rain forest. When the unfortunate day of your demise eventually comes then tell your relatives you don't want your body to be buried because cemeteries use huge amounts of fertilizer and pesticides to maintain an unhealthy monoculture on deforested ground. And you don't want your body cremated, because burning creates carbon dioxide that accelerates the trend of global warming. Instead, ask them to throw you on the compost heap and use you to fertilize next year's broccoli plantation
